A week of work in the mountains is not a holiday, nor an office moved into a hotel room. It means doing your work at the usual pace, but walking in the forest at lunchtime and closing your laptop in the evening with the mountains in front of you. I opened Hublou Home in Sinaia for exactly these days.
Why Sinaia
Sinaia is close enough to Bucharest to get there easily, by car or by train, and far enough away to feel you have left. During the week the town is quieter, and the centre stays close: from the villa it is about a 10-minute walk.
Internet and your workspace
The first question before a workation is, rightly, the internet. The villa has a business fibre-optic connection, 1 Gbps with guaranteed bandwidth and automatic backup on the 5G mobile network, so a video call doesn’t drop if one line fails. Every apartment has a table and chairs, and you can work outdoors on the balcony or terrace. Coffee, tea and purified water are included, so you don’t need to look for a café in order to work.
Apartment 1 has a fully equipped kitchen, while the other apartments and Studio 4 have a fully equipped kitchenette, good for breakfast and quick meals between calls.
A working day in the mountains
- In the morning you work at the table, with the view of the forest and mountains that every apartment has.
- At lunchtime you take a short walk or head down to the centre.
- In the afternoon you move your laptop to the terrace or the gazebo.
- In the evening you close the laptop and enjoy the quiet; the villa’s quiet hours are 22:00 to 07:00.
Good to know before you come
- Self check-in from 15:00; check-out by 11:00. If the apartment is free, we can offer a free late check-out.
- Parking is free in front of the property, subject to availability.
- We accept stays of up to 30 nights, which suits a week or two of work. We offer discounts on stays of 7 days or more.
- Bears may appear in Sinaia. After dark it is best to stay in the garden or use your car; the garden has an electric fence around its entire perimeter.
- Pets are not accepted.
Do you also work from Bucharest?
If you split your weeks between the city and the mountains, Hublou Coworking is in Bucharest, in Sector 1, near Aviatorilor metro. You work there for a few days and spend the rest in Sinaia.
